fish design # design tank

From today our family is officially larger !!

Two goldfish have arrived, or better, one is yellowish and one reddish. I must confess I love all pets and therefore I'm so happy with this gift!

But like all real design addicted, immediately I want to know everything about all kinds of tanks; which one can better satisfy my style exigences?

Starting, obviously, from the very important assumption that I think of the wellbeing of my finned friends, therefore from the choice of a tank that can be first of all comfortable for their needs, let's see what you can find around the world!

First of all a little history;goldfish originally came from China, and the legend tells it's a divine messenger, sent to signal the end of famines, and for that reason it was considered sacred and worshipped by noble families  and in temples!

It arrived in Europe at the end of 1700 after touring the world, and here a real passion for goldfish broke out; they were used to decorate tables, houses and even ladies! It wasn't unusual to use earrings in the shape of a small glass tank with a live fish inside!

Of course this passion roused the inspiration of artists in every time. Among our contemporaries
Sandy Skoglund fascinates me in all his interiors  with pets: beautiful!

Going back to tanks, to be able to choose the best, I went to glance what designers propose all over the world!

The Chinese site   http://jeequ.com/9222/   proposes a wonderful labyrinth!

Barneys from New York proposes an aquarium designed by Vanessa Mitrani: really super design!
I don't know though how the poor fish can feel, probably it's better to use it for seaplants, anyway very scenographic!

If you feel ready to keep more than one pet at home,

this project http://www.woohome.com/home-office/fish-can-fly  combine different exigences!

For mountain fish here's a tank that doesn't make them feel nostalgic for home!!!

Yanko Design designed a tank that “captures” the movements of its guests and changes them into sounds and shapes. A new type of communication ! Really futuristic.

If you feel ready to pass  to something more demanding, you can really find aquariums of any kind of shape and size.  A few super design examples

 This is my aquarium!

And now that they have a fantastic home, I have to hurry and feed them!

Stay tuned
